JenulenceTM loose mineral makeup consists of crushed, non-micronized, purified minerals such as mica powder, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, iron and chromium oxides and ultramarines. These minerals are absolutely harmless to the human body when applied topically. The powder particles are too big to enter the body through the skin. These minerals have been used in cosmetics for hundreds of years and are already in every conventional lipstick, facial powder and eye shadow. However, the commercial cosmetic industry adds some harmful chemicals, artificial fragrances and dyes into mineral cosmetic to make their products more profitable and give them better smell and look. So called 'natural cosmetic' often contains talc, which itself is a natural but toxic ingredient when used excessively or bithmuth oxychloride, which is artificial white crystalline filler that gives smooth pearlescent look and feel to the powders.
On the contrary our mineral makeup doesn't contain talc, fragrances, preservatives or any synthetic fillers.
It is always safer to use loose mineral cosmetics and mineral make-up, especially if you allergic to commercial eye shadows and other cosmetics or have any other chemical sensitivities.
Q: What is Titanium Dioxide?
A: Titanium dioxide is a naturally occurring white mineral compound which has been extensively tested for safety and lack of toxicity. It is approved for use in foods, drugs and cosmetics. It is an opacifying agent which helps keep light from entering the delicate contents in the softgels and tablets. Titanium dioxide is also used as a sunscreen in cosmetic and topical products.
Q: What is Mica Powder?
A: Mica is the name of a group of naturally occurring Earth's minerals which are mined from around the world, purified, and crushed into fine powders. The name Mica is derived from Latin word Micare which means "to shine or glitter". It composed of complex silicates and is transparent, colorless, stable and completely inert to the action of water, acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and atmospheric influences. Crushed into fine particles purified and oxidized mica powder is used in cosmetics and make-up industry. When added to mineral makeup Mica reflects light, making the skin tone look more even and wrinkles less visible. The shimmering properties help to protect against harmful UVA/UVB rays.
Q: What is Zinc Oxide? A: Zinc Oxide is a white powder derived from natural mineral material which has skin protecting sunscreen properties. It is antiseptic, astringent and soothing. Zinc Oxide provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB sunrays.
